Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with Wendy Cranford

Welcome to another Crazy Crafters Blog Hop. This time we are CASEing (Copy And Selectively Edit) any project that has been created by Wendy Cranford. Before this hop I hadn't actually seen Wendy's work, now I know what I have been missing out on! If you haven't had a chance to check out her work, I suggest you take a look at her blog.

You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog - Rosalie Desmond or may have come from the person previous to me.  Be sure to click on the person listed under me further down the page to continue your journey on this blog hop.

I had so many wonderful creations to choose from for this hop, but finally I decided to CASE a group of cards she made back in July. For her blog post she even created a YouTube video to show just how easy it is to make a whole heap of card fronts. Here is just one of the cards from that collection.

I decided that I was going to have a play with the Grateful Bunch Stamp Set and see what I could come up with.

Firstly, I stamped the images on some card fronts with Memento Black ink.

Then I used Stampin' Write markers (these use the exact same ink as Stampin' Up! ink pads), to colour in my images.

I then layered them on some Basic Black card stock and coloured card bases.

The card base on this one is Melon Mambo.

The card base on this one is Bermuda Bay, which is the same colour I used on the flowers.

This one uses Pumpkin Pie.

Strawberry Sketches #SS007

As you may know I do enjoy joining in with challenges when I get the time. The challenge this time comes from Strawberry Sketches #007.

Sketches are just a base from which to start. As in this one above, just because it shows a circle, it doesn't mean we have to use a circle, but we can if we choose to. It is all open to interpretation, we can rotate, replace or use it very literal.

It is my son's teachers' last day today as she is about to have a baby, so I thought I would use the sketch as a starting point for my card.

Baby Bear is a three step image. For this bear I used 3 shades of Bermuda Bay, which is created by stamping off on scratch paper.

Stamp Set:            Baby Bear (141859)
                             Thoughtful Banners (141614)
Ink:                       Bermuda Bay (131171)

Moroccan Nights

I had a crazy morning this morning, so thought I would watch some lovely people on periscope crafting this afternoon. I was watching Ellen Woodbridge doing her magic, making a beautiful card and thought, lets get crafting while watching.

This is what I came up with.

The lifted designs towards the top of the card look pretty good, but were not part of my original idea. I got a little of the Perfect Plum ink in places I didn't want it, so had to cover it with something, and this is how this part of the design was born.

We never have mistakes just opportunities.

Stamp Set:  Moroccan Nights (141718)
Ink:             Island Indigo (126986)
                   Calypso Coral (126983)

Christmas is the time of the year

Crafting today was all about Christmas.

Yes, I know that it is only August but if I don't get a start on my Christmas crafting, I will blink and it will be that crazy month of December.

I made three cards in a flash, same basic layout but each a little different from the last.

Both these sets are from the 2016-2017 Annual Catalogue.

A little bird for you...

My favourite stamps in the thoughtful branches stamp set are the cute little birds.
I've seen many wonderful projects where these little bird sit in a tree, so I thought why shouldn't they have their very own card.

Peaceful trees...

Some cards are gender neutral, this is one of those. I often find that if I add linen thread instead of ribbon to a card, it takes on a masculine look.

A Heartfelt Congrats - Global Design Project #049

Inspiration can be found almost anywhere.

This time I found it from this week's challenge at Global Design Project #GDP049. This week they have a colour challenge.

What a lovely combination of colours! This is what it inspired me to make.

The hearts are from the Sunshine Wishes Dies. I cut out three hearts from Flirty Flamingo and Daffodil Delight. I then glued them on top of each other and added a final coat of fine tip glue to the top one.

The sentiment "congrats" also came from the Sunshine Wishes Dies. One was cut from Flirty Flamingo and the other from Daffodil Delight, they were then stuck down off centre to create a shadow effect.

Cardstock:  Pear Pizzaz (1312920)
                   Flirty Flamingo (141421)
                   Daffodil Delight (121680)
                   Basic Black (121688)
Tools:         Big Shot (143263)
                   Sunshine Wishes Dies (141489)
                   Fine Tip Glue Pen (138309)

Crazy Crafter Blog Hop with Dawn Olchefske

Welcome once again to a Crazy Crafters Blog Hop. This time we are CASEing (Copy And Selectively Edit) any project that has been created by Dawn Olchefske. When you get a chance, take a look at her amazing creations. We hope you find great inspiration from todays projects.

You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog - Rosalie Desmond or may have come from the person previous to me.  Be sure to click on the person listed under me further down the page to continue your journey on this blog hop.

With so many wonderful projects to choose from it was hard to decide which to CASE this time. One project in particular did stand out however, this card was made with a technique called Craft Sheet Stamping.

It actually wasn't the technique that I CASEd, it was in fact the colours, set and the layout that I used for inspiration this time.

This is what I came up with after perusing her blog.

This time you get two projects in one - a card and a matching treat bag.

I had heaps of fun making these. I started by making the treat bag, for something a little different. It was actually the first time I pulled the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits out of their packet. Its such an easy item to put together, a little glue and you are there. I stamped the whisper white before I popped the bag together for this project. I popped the "for you" sentiment over the ribbon, which is one of the thinlits that belongs to the Mini Treat bag set.

I then decided that it needed a matching card. So in keeping with the same theme as the bag I used the top of the mini treat bag thinlit to cut the top and then the bottom of my card front. It was a little fiddley but I do love the way it turned out.

To make it a little easier, I have made a short video to show you how to make the zig zag top.

Little Foxy Friends - Strawberry Sketches #005

There has been a little talk in the Crazy Crafters team about another fun challenge - Strawberry Sketches. Well, I just had to see what all the fuss was about and decided to join in with the latest challenge.

Here is this week's sketch.

This is what it inspired me to create.

This card was pretty quick to make. I just cut three strips of DSP (designer Series Paper) and stuck them down on a Pool Party card front. I then cut out four "Hello" thinlits from the Hello You set and stuck them together to give the sentiment some dimension, and then stuck that on the card front. I then popped the card front on a Calypso Coral card base, added a white centre and I was done.  But what a lovely way to use such pretty paper!

Cardstock: Pool Party (124391)
                  Calypso Coral (124392)
DSP:          A Little Foxy Designer Series Paper (141637)
Thinlits:     Hello You Thinlits (137363)
Tools:        Big Shot (143263)
                  Fine-Tip Glue Pen (138309)
