Blendabilities + embossing powder = lots of fun!

I am certainly a little behind the times. I have seen this technique making its appearance all over Pintrest. Very simple, yet very effective. I have no idea who first had the idea but I'm ever so grateful. Its an easy way to use Blendabilities on those days when we have an unsteady hand or just to use a different affect.

You simply stamp with Versa Mark and use white embossing powder over it, heat set and colour over. Just as easy as that, particularly if you use it on black card stock.

Blendabilities- the new craze?

I've noticed that since Stampin' Up! released their new alcohol markers, Blendabilities, that the net has been full of lovely blended colourings.

I also noticed that different people use different techniques to colour, yet somehow they all look great. I have never considered myself very artistic yet I was happy with the outcome right from my first flower. And here is it.

Blended Bloom Stamp Set

I colour from dark to light, in small sections. I found that by colouring in small sections the ink is still dry enough to blend nicely. Here is a card I made using Blendabilities. This one uses Cherry Cobbler.

Crazy Crafters July Blog Hop NEW 2014-2015 Stampin' Up! Catalogue

Thanks for joining The Crazy Crafters team blog hop for July. This is my first time joining the line up.

This month we are excited to show you Stampin' Up! products available now in the 2014-2015 Annual Catalogue. We hope you enjoy your travels through our hop and discover some interesting ways to use the products.

This is the seventh stop in our Annual Catalogue blog hop line. You should have just come from Tamie Holt at Tamie Luvs Craft 2 , if this is your first stop then you can work your way to every blog from here. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.

What makes this blog hop even more special for me, besides it being my first, is that it is my daughter's 9th Birthday. Common practice at her school, is for the birthday child to bring in a treat for each of the class members. For this project I was given a lot of direction. My daughter chose the colours, the stamps, the punches, in fact everything.

She chose a cute little circle "surprise" stamp from the Amazing Birthday stamp set (p. 48). This stamp set had three similar sized stamps for her to chose from, so as you can imagine designing took a lot of time and debating.

She then decided that she wanted to pretty it up a bit and used a handy little stamp from the Hello There hostess stamp set (p. 237). This stamp worked so well to become an outer circle around her greeting.

We then punched out a love heart for each treat tags using the heart from the new Itty Bitty Punch Pack (p. 222) and heat embossed my daughter's name on each one using the Back to Basics Alphabet stamp set (p. 98). The size of the letters were prefect for this project.

Then we assembled the tags and tied them on with 3.2mm silver ribbon (p. 206).

All ready for back to school tomorrow.

Another go at Work of Art

With school holidays in full swing here in Victoria I thought I would take a little time out from playing at the park, watching movies, play dates and the like.

The Work of Art stamp set was sitting on my shelf just waiting to be used again. This time I thought I would throw in some of the new DSP and some punches into the mix.

This card uses Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack and matching new in-colours, Blackberry Bliss and Hello Honey. The corner looked a little plain so I added a flower made using the Pettie Petals Punch and the flower from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack.

Thanks for dropping by,

Rosalie
